  • Speed:

A computer is a fast data processing system. The time taken by the computer system to execute any task is very fast. It can process thousands of millions of data within a second. A recent computer has a speed of 300 MHX. This means that it can execute an instruction in about 10 nanoseconds.



    • Accuracy:

    Although computer works at very high speed, it doesn’t make any mistake in data processing. It is 100% accurate machine. Errors can occur in a computer, but these errors are due to inaccurate data or bugs. That means if we feed the wrong data to a computer then the result produced by a computer is also wrong. 

    • Data Storage: 


    A computer can store the data and program in its primary and secondary memory. Primary memory helps to store the data temporarily and secondary memory helps to store the data permanently. Data and program for current use are stored in primary memory. Secondary memories can store the large volume of data for a long period of time. 


    • Automatic:


    A computer can perform a task only when it gets correct instructions. Once we give instruction to the computer to perform some specific task, it carries out tasks automatically as the instructions. But it cannot do any task automatically in its own way. 

    • Diligence:


    Computer’s accuracy, speed, and efficiency don’t decrease even if it works for a long time. It means a computer is capable of performing a task for many hours continuously without taking any rest. It is free from tiredness, lack of concentration etc. This feature of a computer is called diligence. 

    •  Versatility:


    The computer can be used in the various sectors. Almost everywhere the computer is used. A computer is a versatile machine. It is used in various fields for various purposes. People use the computer to play the game, have the knowledge, do financial work, etc.
